1. What materials do you use?
On every product you will also find the materials that were used. With most jewellery I use stainless steel for quality; it's durable and anti-allergic. I have found that gold color in stainless steel may change color a bit over time.
For some jewellery I used only found vintage materials. Then the materials are unknow but I check before I buy so it should be long lasting.
If you do notice any change on the materials or you do have an allergic reaction, please contact me. I will do what I can.
For rings
- The rings that are made for vintage souvenir spoons/forks are silver plated, which for many people will turn their finger black from skin reaction. That's why I cover the ring with a small resin layer to prevent oxidation. If you live close, I can always put on a new layer over time. If you do still see your finger turn black, please contact me. I will do what I can.
- My new rings are stainless steel so there shouldn't be an oxidation problem. I soft solder on top of the rings which is a process of using soft tin on a coper layer. Over time it is possible that the tin can change from acids and humid environment. You can carefully clean with copper polish or with warm water and gentle soap.
2. What ring sizes do you have?
The rings from vintage souvenir spoons/forks are fixed. On the shop you can find what size they are. Most of them are open rings so they can also be opened or closed a little more.
The newer stainless steel rings can vary in size. Some ring sizes I can find in a closed ring but most sizes will me an open ring. Here that doesn't mean it's easy to make the size smaller or bigger at home because of harder material. I have the right utensils to do that.
You can select on the shop in what size you want the ring. Is your size not there? Please contact me and I'll do what I can.
3. How do I find my ring size?
I don't work with US or EU ring sizes but I use mm circumference because that's also how you mostly will find your ring size.
- Option 1: You can wrap a string around your finger as fit as you like, measure it in millimeters, that should be your size.
- Option 2: Take a ring you know already fits you, measure the INSIDE diameter in millimeters, and compare it to the size chart.
- Take a look at the size chart
4. Do you make your rings yourself?
I'm not a silver or gold smith so no the base of the rings are not made by me. The souvenir spoons I turn into rings myself with a hammer and other utensils. The stainless steel rings I soft solder myself and find the fitting bead to create something unique.
